Propane Service Technician

Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
On-the-job training with existing propane service technician.
Ability to troubleshoot and identify problems.
Technical skills to use tools and equipment to analyze a system or component. - Valid Driver’s License with company approved driving record. Obtain CETP certification, line-test training. Class B CDL with HazMat endorsement or ability to obtain within 90 days.
Essential Functions:
- Performing safety inspections of residential and commercial customers’ propane systems for leaks and other problems, to ensure they are safe for use.
- Installing and setting propane tanks, provide removal of tanks, make field repairs of tank valves, seals, lines and regulators.
- Inspecting and testing propane tanks for leaks, or corrosion, and ensure they are functioning properly, or need to be repaired or replaced.
- Attends and participates in all meetings and schools as directed by supervisor.
- Submit reports as required by law and supervisor.
- Administers and controls credit within the associations’ established credit policy.
- Maintains a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the Cooperative and a favorable image of the Cooperative.
- Responsible for well maintained, clean facilities, equipment and complying with all state and federal regulations pertaining to a safe workplace, housekeeping, and all activities that require regulation compliance.
- Provides excellent customer service by managing difficult or emotional situations; respond promptly to customer needs, resolve questions, complaints and concerns immediately and meet commitments.
- Effectively communicates by verbal and written means with customers, employees, and management.
- Maintains and promotes safety awareness; follows safety policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
- Presents a clean and professional appearance.
- Employees must perform all other duties as directed by the supervisor.
